Paradyse Blackwood

Sentinels of Change Alliance Postdoctoral Fellow in Marine Host-Parasite Dynamics

Paradyse (they/them) is a disease ecologist and toxicologist interested in how anthropogenic stress (e.g., climate change, salinity) influences host-parasite interactions. With Sentinels of Change, Paradyse will utilize field and lab experiments to explore how climate change and environmental variation are connected in determining parasitic infection dynamics in intertidal marine invertebrates in the Salish Sea. Based at UBC, Paradyse is co-advised by Drs. Alyssa Gehman, Chris Harley, and Kayla King.
