Iria Gimenez

Iria Gimenez (she/her) is a experimental research scientist at the Hakai Institute and based in Ligwiłda’xw people, the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, Kwiakah, K’ómoks, Hul’qumi’num Treaty Group, Homalco, and ƛohos giǰi (Klahoose) First Nations in Campbell River and Quadra Island, BC. Her research interests and expertise lie at the intersection of biological and chemical oceanography and marine ecology. In particular, Iria is an expert in assessing marine organism, population and ecosystems' responses to climate change, including ocean acidification and global warming, through a mix of observational, experimental and modeling work.
