Research Scientist with the Hakai Institute and Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia
Alyssa is based in xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nation territory in Vancouver BC. She is a marine disease ecologist at the Hakai Institute, an adjunct professor in the UBC Institute of Oceans and Fisheries and a member of the Biodiversity Research Centre. Alyssa is particularly interested in the interactions between infected hosts and their communities, as well as the impact of temperature on host-parasite interactions.
